Alone is an illustration/print that's inspired by a verse of the song Alone by Burns Boy, it is a black colography (with 240 grit sandpaper) portraying depth.
“It’s just another night, just another fight for my life. It’s okay, because everything dies. And what am I going to do? When I feel like I’m falling, and I can’t find anything to hold on to. What are you going to do? When you feel me screaming so loud, but you don’t hear me. I’m weak, I’m blind, I don’t have the strength I need, and when my whole world goes up in flames, don’t leave me alone, don’t let me fall. I’ve been dying quietly and I need you to remind me why.“
For this work I decided to use the collography technique in a black way because of the amount of texture that is obtained in the print and the possibility of almost omitting the whites. This way, the intense background of the sea, incomprehensible and unknown, is better represented.
