Diseño de material didáctico para la enseñanza y aprendizaje de lesco en hands-on lesco
2021
This document compiles the process and development of my Thesis research, in which I created didactic material focused on LESCO. In it you will find a record of the process of studying the LESCO material, then the development of the characters, signs and cards. The project developed illustrated material, with the purpose of being a tool in the process of practicing the vocabulary of LESCO. It includes material for the first three levels in the form of teaching cards, compiling all the vocabulary signs exited.
LESCO (Lengua de Señas Costarricense) or Costa Rican Sign Language is the language used by deaf people in Costa Rica, as one of the alternatives in which they can communicate. Sign language is one of the forms of communication of deaf people; each country has its own language and way of communication. Several of these languages have similarities among their signs, each one is a representation of its society and culture; it is always in constant movement, change and renovation.
The project was developed with the help and participation of Hands-On LESCO, an institution which is dedicated to teaching Costa Rican Sign Language and the awareness of Deaf Culture. They specialize in teaching LESCO courses for all ages and contexts, and have deaf teachers.
